elder rodney martin
Visionary & founder
Elder Rodney C. Martin brings over four decades of ministry experience and a heart for people to his leadership at The Bridge Phoenix. A native of Joliet, Illinois, Elder Martin was raised in a Christian home where faith, family, and service were foundational. He accepted Christ at the age of seven and has been actively involved in church ministry ever since, serving in roles ranging from Minister of Music to Praise and Worship Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and Assistant Youth Leader.
Elder Martin answered his call to preach in 1998 and was officially ordained to the office of Elder on August 13, 2023, by Bishop Carl A. Pierce Sr., his spiritual father. In 2024, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berkeley School of Theology with a Master of Divinity degree, further deepening his commitment to teaching and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Beyond the pulpit, Elder Martin is a seasoned professional in the field of Human Resources and People Operations. With over 25 years of experience, he currently serves as the Director of Performance and Development for a Minority Depository Institution headquartered in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. His professional expertise includes employee relations, leadership development, and organizational strategy. Throughout his career, he has held key roles in both corporate and nonprofit sectors, working with respected organizations such as ABN AMRO, Wells Fargo, AON, and Capital Area Pediatrics.
He is also a gifted singer, songwriter, and co-founder of A Chosen Generation (ACG) Ministries, a youth and young adult gospel ensemble that originated in his hometown of Joliet.
At The Bridge Phoenix, Elder Martin leads with a passion for bridging divides, renewing minds through sound biblical teaching, and building a Christ-centered community that reflects justice, love, and transformation. He shares his life’s journey with his daughter Sabrina and two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Brandon Jr., who continue to be his greatest joy.
